Hercules Tree

This giant sequoia tree had a room carved into it around the turn of the century by a local rancher, Jesse Hoskins. It is still alive and growing in Mountain Home State Forest, CA.

Hercules, the most famous mastiff

The English Mastiff, often called simply Mastiff, is a large breed of dog descended from the ancient Alaunt and Molosser.

This breed is powerfully built. With a massive body, broad skull and head of generally square appearance. It is one of the largest dog breeds in terms of mass, though the Irish Wolfhound and Great Dane are taller but not nearly as robust.

The Mastiff breed is a combination of dignity and courage; calm and affectionate to its master, but capable of protection. This particular mastiff-type breed is an extremely capable guard.

Hercules Beetle

The Hercules beetle (Dynastes hercules) is the most famous of the rhinoceros beetles. Native to the rainforests of Central and South America, they also can be found in coastal regions of North Carolina. Their title is well deserved, with some (exceptionally rare) males reaching 6.75 inches (170 mm) in length.

Alcedo Hercules

The Blyth's Kingfisher, Alcedo hercules, is a kingfisher distributed in Bangladesh, India, China, Bhutan, Myanmar, Laos, Vietnam. It is found along streams in evergreen forest and adjacent open country from 200-1,200 m, mainly at 400-1,000 m.

Alternaria Herculea

Alternaria brassicae or herculea is a plant pathogen able to infect most Brassica species including important crops such as brocoli, cabbage and oil seed rape. It causes damping off if infection occurs in younger plants and less severe leaf spot symptoms on infections of older plants.
